Enhancing Small Business Through Digital Marketing




Digital marketing has become a crucial component in enhancing the profitability of any business entity be it small, medium or large and forms an important part of the overall marketing strategy.

Small business entities should keep a substantial portion of their promotion through digital marketing apart from the offline local marketing strategies.


Various digital marketing strategies are critical to local, offline business and online business. There are four different ways of online marketing which are critical to any business.

1.Search Engine Marketing


This strategy will enable to show and prioritize your business entity in search results. This will result in more customers knowing your company as compared to the competition while they search on various search engines. This is known as search engine optimization. It is critical that your company place high in search results for the words related to your business.

2.Local Search Marketing

Location based marketing includes website optimization for search results and integrates a search engine's function of maps. This is done with Google, where the company  can be listed with mapping and address information, enabling a prospective customer to visit your company. Company phone number and website address can also be listed. 

3.Content Marketing

Content marketing gives prospective customer information about the product or service, as well as information in general. The product and service details are to be displayed in a creative and unique way to make it different from the competition and will enable more visits and business. Customers  will attribute a certain level of expertise to a company, and this instills confidence in the consumer. In past content marketing was done with printed brochures and guidebook. Now a days  this is done with articles and other forms of information on  company website.

4.Social Media Marketing


Social media marketing uses social media platforms and websites to promote products and services. This is used to share the content with the social network to improve brand awareness and widen customer reach. 

This is done through social media optimization for influencing new and unique visitors to the website. This enables direct feedback from customers and prospect customers. The interactive part of  social media gives a strong customer feedback mechanism. The commonly used platforms are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. The objective is to retain the customer base and bring more pull backs.
